What is Finserv Foundation?

Our Background

The FinServ Foundation, founded in 2019 by Jamie Hopkins, Esq., LLM, CFP®, ChFC®, CLU®, RICP®, was created to address the high attrition rate in the financial planning profession and to help build a workforce that better reflects the diverse communities it serves. Each year, the foundation selects a total of 200 students across its spring and fall cohorts, drawing talent from more than 40 universities nationwide.

What is the 2-Year FinServ Foundation Fellowship?

The FinServ Foundation Fellowship is a, two-year program for college sophomores and juniors who aspire to become financial planners or wealth managers but may lack the resources, knowledge, or network to thrive in the industry. Thanks to our incredible sponsors, participation comes at no cost to our Fellows!

Built around three core pillars: Mentorship, Coaching, and Community, the program provides:

Mentorship: A six-month pairing with an experienced industry professional to offer guidance, insights, and career support.
Coaching: Monthly coaching calls focused on developing both hard and soft skills, as well as building industry knowledge.
Community: A supportive network of peers and professionals, with the opportunity to attend an industry conference (sponsored at no cost) after completing the mentorship phase.

The Fellowship is designed to empower the next generation of financial professionals with the tools, connections, and confidence to succeed!
